SMART Recovery Family & Friends
Although SMART Recovery Family & Friends has great resources available on their website, they are most well-known for their community-based support groups. SMART Recovery has two types of groups, standard groups for people directly struggling with addictive behavior and the Family & Friends groups for anyone affected by a loved one’s alcohol use, substance use, food, gambling, or other addictive behaviors.
SMART Recovery Family & Friends uses CRAFT as the base for their handbook and group content. It can be a great way to learn more about the skills, to practice with other people, and to get support.
They also have locally-based groups that meet in-person or through Zoom. For meetings in North America, check out their Meeting Locator.
